Everyone Knows Word of Mouth is the Best Advertising

I want to reward people sharing my books, rather than pay gigantic, evil, boot-licking corporations to advertise on platforms designed to make us hate each other.

You don't need a specific number of followers—just a genuine interest in burning down capitalism as we know it, and stabbing Stephen Miller (metaphorically, for legal reasons) right in his hairless, caved in, pathetic chest.

Oh, and you need to love my Sydney Rye Mysteries--feminist vigilante thrillers that are cathartic AF where the bad guys die in truly satisfying ways, and the dog lives forever—because this is fiction and we can do whatever the fuck we want.

Loving dogs makes a lot of sense too...both generally and for my readers. But we don't discriminate based on furry companion preferences here. As long as you're not a fascist fuck, we're cool.

What if I've never read your books?

Then you're not quite ready to be an affiliate. But you can read the first Sydney Rye Mystery for free HERE when you sign up for my affiliate newsletter.

I seriously don't want people who have not read and enjoyed my books promoting them. This only works if we share about the shit we genuinely love.

What is the commission payout? How much can I earn?

I pay affiliates 30% on ebooks and digital audiobooks. 15% on paperbacks. The paperbacks are a lower commission because they cost more to produce and ship.

How much you earn depends on how many books you sell. This offer has an average order value of $42, so 30% of that is $12.60.

How do you track sales from my affiliate links?

I use ThriveCart to sell my books, and they have a built-in affiliate program. So they keep track of all the sales that come from your unique link. You'll be paid 14 days after the sale, which is when the return window closes.

When will I get paid my commission?

14 days after the sale—since that's the return window.

How will I be paid?
A PayPal business account is required in order to receive your affiliate commissions. Your payouts will be automatically deposited after 14 days.

What do I have to do?

Just share your unique link which you'll receive after your application is approved. Blog posts, TikToks, Instagram reels, stories, Facebook posts, Discord servers, group chats— wherever you genuinely talk about books or how pissed off you are at this shit show of a timeline.

How can I qualify for this program?

You need to fill out the application, have a PayPal business account, and actually like my books. 😂

What if I have no idea how to promote your books?

Just talk about how you've enjoyed the Sydney Rye Mysteries. If they helped you through a rough time, gave you catharsis, made you laugh, cry, stay up too late, enjoy sitting in traffic...share anything real with your audience, and they will respond.

Once you're approved, you'll be given a unique url to share and will have access to promo images, videos, and excerpts. You can also use quotes from the Sydney Rye books that you love.

What books can I promote?

Right now, this program is just for my Sydney Rye Mysteries, which has 19 books in the series so far—18 of which are in the sales funnel. Your link will take people to a landing page where they can pay what they want for a set of the first 8 ebooks or digital audiobooks, or save 40% off paperbacks.

Here's what they'll see: https://read.emilykimelman.com/sr18epwyw?sl=aflp

The funnel works really well, and many people opt to buy the next 4 book set or the entire series in one go. That's why my average order value is $42 for a first time purchase.

Do I have to pay anything to participate in the Affiliate Program?

Nope. No. Not at all. Anyone who tries to get you to pay to be their affiliate should eat shit and die. I'll even give you my first book free in ebook or digital audiobook format to see if you like it. Get your copy HERE.

How My Affiliate Program Was Born...

I published my first book in 2011 on KDP—Amazon's self publishing platform. By 2013 I was a full time author exclusive to Amazon's Kindle Unlimited Program. The exclusivity struck me as a classic example of having all my eggs in one billionaire's evil basket.

So I started selling my books on all platforms and using paid ads to promote my work. It became obvious as my spend and reach increased that I was paying to acquire customers for Amazon and other giant corporations while paying Meta, another soulless organization, to do it. Which honestly, sucked.

In 2018, my business manager, Jamie Davis, and I went on a retreat and agreed that we didn't want to keep going this way. We dreamed of an eco system where people who enjoy my books made money to spread the word about my books instead of evil fucking billionaires.

So in 2020, I started selling direct to readers, meaning I was sending readers to my own website instead of paying to promote Amazon. But remained reliant on paid advertising to reach new readers.

Now, I'm launching my affiliate program so that I can pay book lovers, instead of social media companies that are part of why the world is so fucked up, to reach new readers.

My goal is to shift the multi six figures I spend on Meta to my affiliates—regular readers, just like you. Join me.
